Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental impairment characterized by substantial social, communicative, and behavioral difficulties. The CDC is committed to continue to provide critical data on ASD, searching for variables that put children at risk for ASD and possible causes, and developing services to assist in the early identification of children with ASD.

CASP represents the autistic provider community to the nation as a whole, including the government, payers, and the general public. CASP acts as an agent for change by spreading knowledge, delivering education, and supporting quality-improving standards.

Parent-to-Parent of Miami is a community resource that specializes in offering information, education, and emotional support to families with special needs children and adults.

 An individual must have a developmental disability (as defined by section 393.063(12), Florida Statutes) that occurs prior to the age of 18 and constitutes a substantial handicap that can reasonably be expected to continue indefinitely in order to be eligible for services from the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (“APD”).
